Radar Technology Researcher

The candidate will join young and dynamic research team of Department of Microwave and Antenna Engineering (DMAE), a part of the Faculty of Electronics, Telecommunications and Informatics (ETI) of Gdansk University of Technology (GUT), Gdansk, Poland. DMAE is one of the leading European centers of microwave and antenna engineering with a strong focus on focusing on RF embedded systems. In 2004 it was awarded the status of the Wireless Communication Engineering Centre of Excellence – WiComm.DMAE staff includes 10 permanent researchers and 20 engineers/researchers. DMAE scientific staff have published over 120 papers in the ISI journals with high impact factors.

Description

The Microwave and Antenna Department of Gdansk University of Technology is seeking a qualified candidates to lead and contribute to a research related to the development of innovative radar sensing technology for automotive and aeronautic solutions. The person on this position will be responsible for:
●acquiring knowledge and being closely familiar with the working principles of automotive and aeronautic radars, 
●designing concepts, signal processing algorithms, technologies and components of radar systems, 
●assessing various tradeoffs of radar systems design, 
●tracking the development of novel radar systems, technologies, 
●publication of the research results in journal papers or conferences,
●cooperation with team members and business partners within international research projects,
●performing radar system engineering work, including requirements and specification definitions, performance evaluation, algorithm design and testing, etc.
●organization of internal workshops for team members and students in the area of radar technology.

Qualifications:
●PhD in Electronic/Electrical Engineering or M.S.E.E. with adequate scientific expirience.
●Experience in development, implementation, optimization and testing of radar algorithms.
●Practical experience in research, design, simulation, development and testing of radar systems.
● Engineering background including assessment of various system tradeoffs.
● Wide knowledge on radar systems technologies, system approaches and signal processing concepts.
●Proven research background (publications, patents, research projects).
