Purpose of the Job

  • To responsibly execute Industrial Steam Turbine Projects to cost, time and quality whilst minimizing risks and maximizing opportunities for the business. 

Organisational Reporting

  • Reporting directly to Director of Project Management.

Responsibilities 

The Project Manager is responsible for:

  • managing the scope of work of allocated projects, completing them within time, budget and cash targets, whilst optimizing the margin;
  • acting as the single point of contact with customers, customer representatives, other external organisations (Insurance, govermental agencies), Alstom consortium partners or other Alstom organisations involved in the project;
  • management of the execution of projects form Hand Over from Sales until all obligations are completed to Hand Over the project to Power Thermal Service Organization (handover should take place at PAC date);
  • managing and optimizing project team resources and other organisations outside Industrial Steam Turbines involved in the projects;
  • co-ordination of all activities for the allocated scope including engineering, procurement logistics, technical advisory for erection and commissioning;
  • development and evolution of overall project schedule, which have to include contractual milestones, engineering, fabrication, QA milestones as well as TFA and TCA activities;
  • application of project specific procedures, project quality plans, EHS plans, management systems;
  • development of project risk and opportunity identification. Management of project risk and opportunities by implementation of appropriate actions with the aim of improving margins;
  • resolution of claims and concessions to/from customers, consortium partners, contractors, insurance, others;
  • preparation and regular up-dating of project reporting (progress and financial);
  • supporting development, sales and tendering.

The Project Manager has the authority to make all decisions for the projects in accordance with pertinent rules and as prescribed in the Industrial Steam Turbines delegation of authority. 

Qualifications 

Educational Requirements

  • University degree in Engineering;
  • Knowledge in handling of Commercial and Contractual issues;
  • Language English, 2nd language would be a plus.

Knowledge/Experience

  • Significant operational Project Management experience, in a Turbomachinery environment and preferably at an industrial product scale;
  • Proven experience in developing and leading teams to achieve Project Management excellence;
  • Experience of operating in a global, matrix organisation.

Behavioural and Technical Skills/Competencies

  • Experienced in using MS Office;
  • Knowledge of Financial Systems;
  • Knowledge in Contract Management.
