Open Postdoctoral Positions at the Department of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), Universitat Pompeu Fabra, Barcelona

The UPFellows programme addresses international researchers and aims to offer career development opportunities to junior postdoctoral candidates of any nationality. This third call offers up to 5 positions, 2 of them in the Department of Information and Communication Technologies (DTIC-UPF).

The DTIC-UPF community (> 50 nationalities) conducts research in a broad range of fields created around the convergence of ICT with computing science, networks, biomedical and cognitive sciences. The active participation in international programs (66 projects in FP7, including 9 prestigious ERC grants and the Human Brain Project) and strong links with key international industrial players creates a unique environment for the development of talented researchers, whille enjoying the cultural, social and recreational amenities of the city of Barcelona.

Within the DTIC-UPF, candidates in all areas will be considered. Examples of areas of special interest include:
- Cloud Computing, Data Intensive Computing and Data Management
- Biomechanics, computational modeling of organs, computer-assisted surgery and smart surgical instrumentation
- Distributed Systems and Network Computing
- Multimodal signal processing
- Computer graphics
- Cognitive robotics and natural language processing
- Brain and Cognition
