Postdoctoral Research Fellowship in Reservoir Geology (ref no 2015/2802)

Large scale deployment of CCS for Europe requires offshore carbon storage in the North Sea area. Norwegian storage sites have been outlined in the CO2 Storage Atlas of the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate, but the prospects herein need to be matured above a critical knowledge to reduce risks around capacity, storability and integrity of future storage sites. Evaluation of reservoir performance requires a sound understanding of the structural framework, the depositional architecture and the sedimentary processes, the ability to obtain reservoir properties from cores, well logs and geophysical attribute analysis, and the ability to represent the corresponding heterogeneity into geological reservoir models.
