| Job description: | Financial Software Engineer Our Client a Global Investment Management Company is seeking a Financial Software Engineer to join their team based in Limassol. The company deploys quantitative hedge fund strategies to trade the global financial markets, with a long and successful track record. This is an exciting opportunity to join a world leader in quantitative finance to focus on researching and developing state of the art trading infrastructure. The Role The successful candidate will join a team developing and managing the firm’s complex & high frequency trading platform. The role will involve close communication with portfolio managers, execution system specialists, researchers, developers, traders, brokers and project management work. He/she will also be involved in maintaining and operating the in-house electronic analysis and trading systems in after hours rotation The ideal candidate will have Excellent all round computing skills, mathematical ability, as well as project experience in meeting deadlines coupled with, preferably, an exposure to the finance industry. The individual The key responsibilities of this role will be: To further develop & support the company’s geographically distributed electronic trading platform. To join the team in charge of the daily setting up, running, monitoring and troubleshooting the trading system which operates 24 hours a day and which trades equities futures and spot FX in Asia, Europe and North America. To understand complex trading processes and systems and to help the ongoing development of control parameters, to ensure reliability, consistency, process quality and control. To be involved in the complete development cycle. The Ideal Candidate Degree in science/computing/numerate/engineering field. Strong analytical and quantitative skills. Strong working knowledge of Matlab or other mathematical modelling software. Strong working knowledge of database development, ideally with SQL Server, T-SQL stored procedures, functions, indexes and query optimization. Working knowledge of .NET, ideally with C#, or Java. Able to work well under pressure and have proactive approach to implementing enhancements and process improvements whilst maintaining precision. Desire to learn and ability to work well in a team as well as taking ownership on sub-projects. The following will be an advantage: Knowledge of Reuters, Bloomberg and other data suppliers A good understanding of financial products and markets Experience within a high frequency trade support environment Our client offers an excellent remuneration package together with excellent career opportunities and growth. |
