The department of Cell Biology at the University of Kaiserslautern invites applications from highly motivated PhD students to work on a fully funded, exciting project aimed at understanding redox regulation of cellular metabolism.

This project will make use of novel, ultra-sensitive, genetically-encoded hydrogen peroxide sensors, which allow real-time measurements of cellular hydrogen peroxide, with sub-cellular compartment specificity in intact, living cells. We will combine these probes with the extensive array of genetic tools available in the yeast S. cerevisiae, with the aim to gain fundamental new insights. We are an English-speaking, international laboratory with a friendly and productive work atmosphere and state-of-the-art equipment. Kaiserslautern is located in the famous Palatinate forest, with a very affordable cost-of-living and an international population.

Applicants must have a Master degree or equivalent in Biology, Biochemistry, Biophysics or related fields. We expect excellent oral and written communication skills in English and an enthusiasm for science.
