PhD in Supply Chain Compliance

The research will consist of both case study research, data transformation language development, and software engineering. The topic is interdisciplinary, as it involves computer science and supply chain management. The candidate should therefore have expertise in ontology/software engineering and an affinity for planning algorithms. The PhD candidate is expected to do scientific research, write research papers and complete a PhD thesis. The research is executed under the supervision of Prof. Yao-Hua Tan (TU Delft) and Dr. Wout Hofman (TNO).
The PhD position is a part of the SISSASC research project funded by the ISCOM programme of NWO and supported by international companies, including Almende, Log-IT, and TNO. The project includes one PhD position at TU Delft and two post-doc positions at CWI that will test and validate the ontology for dynamic logistic planning algorithms and scalability aspects, so the PhD candidate will be part of a dynamic research community. TU Delft and TNO collaborate intensively in (inter)national research projects, which provide case studies for the research of this PhD, e.g. CASSANDRA and CORE (www.coreproject.eu).
