JOB DESCRIPTION

We are seeking a highly motivated and safety conscious individual to manage the industrial maintenance service for a large Industrial site in Waterford. The successful candidate would have developed a detailed knowledge of the operation and maintenance of a broad cross section of utilities plant, process plant and demonstrated successful development and implementation. The successful candidate would be the main point of contact with the client’s nominated representative and have full P&L responsibility.

MAIN TASKS

  • To ensure that the site utilities are available to support the clients production requirements;
  • Provide technical support to ensure proper operation of production equipment;
  • Manage the operational performance to demonstrate the cost effectiveness of the maintenance operation;
  • Deliver all Veolia site services within budget. Prepare budget forecasts and track to plan for financial costing;
  • Monitor performance of all utilities and process plant associated with this contract and establish reporting methodology to support this;
  • To ensure all plant under the control of Veolia is maintained in accordance with manufacturer’s specification/best practice;
  • Delegating, organising and co-ordinating all resources to ensure successful completion/implementation of activity/service;
  • To support the client in development of a suitable and appropriate PM plan for the maintenance and support of line plant and utilities plant. To ensure that the planned preventative maintenance schedules are completed and assessed on an ongoing basis, for effectiveness of the PM schedules;
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of sub-contractors on an ongoing basis;
  • To attend daily/weekly production meetings to agree appropriate maintenance is carried out with minimum disruption to production;
  • To ensure that all work is carried out in accordance with Health, Safety & Environmental regulations, permit to work and client procedures are strictly adhered to;
  • To ensure that all Veolia company procedures are adhered to and that quality standards are maintained at all times;
  • To recommend to the client remedies that need to be carried out on the utilities and production plant to ensure its availability to support production;
  • To ensure that Veolia staff are trained to carry out their roles and to put in place appropriate development plans using the Veolia performance development process;
  • Set Performance goals and objectives for the maintenance team on site;
  • Report to the client on contract progress and ensure client satisfaction utilizing the agreed KPI’s;
  • Establish and develop opportunities to diversify or increase contractual services to the client.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Trade Qualification in Electrical/Mechanical with minimum of 10 years post qualification experience in a technical management role;

Or

  • 3rd Level Qualification in related engineering discipline with minimum of 10 years post qualification experience in a technical management role.

KEY COMPETENCES REQUIRED

Experience (knowledge)

  • 10 Years post qualification engineering experience - across Utilities, Manufacturing industry;
  • Operating within a regulated environment;
  • Experience of multiple site responsibility – ideally within a service industry environment;
  • 10 Years line management experience – ability to demonstrate excellent organisational/leadership skills with all engineering support (Multi skilled technicians and contractors);
  • Experience in energy management role with ability to demonstrate a clear history of savings achieved;
  • Demonstrate an ability to motivate and drive a team in a continuous improvement environment;
  • Continuous Improvement techniques 5S/Kaizen/6 sigma/FMEA;
  • Excellent PC Skills & ability to develop and deliver presentations at both client and internal levels;
  • Change Management experience.

  • Demonstrate proficiency in the maintenance and operation of Utilities and process plant across a broad range of manufacturers;
  • To manage and develop team(s) to ensure sustainability of service to clients (Multi skilled technicians and contractors);
  • Communicates clearly and concisely both orally and in writing; listens actively to others, asks questions to understand their needs; gives clear, basic instructions; handles disagreements and conflict effectively;
  • To develop and drive Energy Cost reduction programmes for Utility and process Plant;
  • Establishing & developing computerised preventative Maintenance Programmes utilising current best maintenance practices;
  • Prepare budget forecasts and track to plan for financial costing;
  • Champion departmental safety;
  • Recruit Personnel & provide first line HR management on site;
  • Set performance goals and objectives for the site based team;
  • Participate in and attend cross functional meetings;
  • Maintain quality relationships with clients, suppliers and sub-contractors;
  • Seize opportunities to diversify or increase contractual services;
  • Effectively communicate to the client about contract progress and all aspects of the contract.

POSSIBLE CAREER DEVELOPMENT

Should be able to demonstrate ability to develop into regional manager position across range of contracts.
