Postdoc - Analytical Chemistry/Chemical Engineering

JOB DESCRIPTION

The successful candidate will play a central role in the project "Gas-expanded liquids - new solvents for green analytical chemistry", which is funded by the Swedish Research Council. The project will be performed at the Center for Analysis and Synthesis (www.kilu.lu.se/cas), in collaboration with the Department of Chemical Engineering.

The project involves studying one for Analytical Chemistry entirely new type of solvent - gas-expanded liquids (GXLs). The research will focus on solubility studies, stability and diffusivity of polyphenolic substances in carbon dioxide-expanded ethanol, ethyl acetate and ethyl lactate; extraction and degradation kinetics; and the development of mathematical models that describe the processes.

The employee is expected to deliver results in line with expectations from the funder, and also to perform self-defined research. The person is expected to work with the project PI, but also with co-applicants on the project. Furthermore, the person is expected to take the initiative needed to ensure progress in the projects.
