Applications are invited for a PhD studentship in the School of Engineering and Technology at the University of Hertfordshire.
The project is conducted in collaboration with ID Scan Biometrics Ltd and is concerned with automatic document classification based on pattern analysis and machine learning.
You should have at least an upper second-class honours degree in Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, or a related discipline. Additionally, you should possess a working knowledge of high level programming languages. Having an MSc degree in a relevant field and/or experience of statistical signal and image analysis, pattern recognition, or computer vision will be advantageous.
The studentship is offered for a maximum of three and half years. It will cover the University tuition fees, and will provide a tax free bursary. This is £13,863 for 2014-15.
