Conduct bespoke gas market analysis to support E.ON in strategic and commercial business decision making, including but not limited to Gas Trading and Optimization, LNG, Market Risk, Gas Storage and Corporate Affairs
Assume responsibility

for the translation of “real live” gas market conditions/developments/ price formation mechanisms etc. into our existing modelling landscape
for the enhancement/further development of our existing global fundamental forecasting models
for the development of new forecasting models as project leader who directs the use of in- and external ressources and co-ordinates the relevant interfaces incl. IT
develop concepts for benchmarking and calibration processes; and assume responsibility for the performance of calibration and benchmarking to ensure highest possible quality of our forecast

Assume responsibility for development of qualitative and quantitative gas related steering parameters and contribute to significant investment and strategic decisions within EGC and the wider E.ON group
Assess impact of possible gas market developments on E.ON markets and business
Confidently present and communicate results and issues relating to the gas market to a wide range of stakeholders within EGC and the wider E.ON group

Education in engineering, economics, business administration or mathematics
Proficiency with mathematical modelling concepts in general and linear programming in particular
Proven track record in applying, adapting and improving fundamental models to energy market, familiarity with linear programming concepts is essential
Professional experience in the field of global energy markets, esp. gas markets is desirable
Team player with strong analytical and numerical skills
Team player with a self-reliant and pro-active personality and the willingness to actively contribute to the new set-up of market analysis in EGC within a highly motivated team
Confident appearance with excellent communication skills and proficient use of English in business contexts (German advantageous but not essential)
