Post-doctoral position – Interleaved converters for solar power conversion

The increase of the static converters switching frequency allows a reduction of the energy stored in the reactive elements. However, an increase in frequency introduces additional switching losses in the power semiconductors; which is not possible in solar applications where high conversion efficiency is mandatory. Interleaved converters allow operation with high apparent frequency of the magnetic element called “coupler” while maintaining an acceptable frequency switching power semiconductor side.
