IT Support Analyst

Main Responsibilities And Duties:

  • Helpdesk Operation: Provide end-user support plus systems maintenance and administration as a key member of the IT helpdesk team. Ensure a responsive, effective and reliable service for all Anritsu EMEA offices, and remote workers. Contribute to regular achievement of the published target Service Level Agreement for helpdesk operation.
  • Systems Availability: Ensure availability and day-to-day operation and technical support of the company’s computer systems, data networks (both LAN & WAN), telephone and fax systems. Maintain the computer room and other central IT resources in a well-organised fashion.
  • System Configuration: Install and configure PC systems and software according to standard procedures.
  • Fault Finding: Perform and/or assist detailed fault-finding on PC and network systems to maintain their overall proper operation.
  • Standards & Documentation: Maintain documentary records in support of all key aspects of systems administration and helpdesk services.
  • Hardware & Software Inventory: Maintain an inventory for all IT hardware and licensed software.
  • Data Security: Operate appropriate security procedures to ensure the privacy and integrity of corporate data. Perform regular backup and secure storage of all key data, and protect against virus attacks.
  • Supply of New Equipment: Configure and deliver new systems and applications to suit individual requirements and in accordance with corporate standards.
  • Training: Provide end-user training on new and existing systems and services as required. Carry out phase-1 induction for new employees, including instruction on the use of core applications and services.
  • Assist Networks Team: Provide assistance to 3rd level support if and when required.
  • System Performance: Regularly monitor and report on the performance of essential servers, applications and networks.

Essential Experience, Knowledge and Qualifications

  • Practical experience of MS Windows systems administration for a commercial organisation.
  • At least two years of end-user support experience in a networked PC environment for a commercial organisation.
  • Demonstrable PC hardware and software problem-solving abilities.
  • Familiarity with Windows XP and MS-Office applications.
  • English speaking.

Desirable Experience, Knowledge and Qualifications

  • A degree in Computer Science or relevant other discipline.
  • Experience of working in an international organisation.
  • Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager
