Chemistry Scientist for Raw Materials Support

To strengthen our Manufacturing Organization for the production of multiple products, we are looking for a chemistry scientist to drive the scientific assessments in implementing raw materials. It is a new position in our Process Development Department. Currently, the Manufacturing Organization is manufacturing vaccines against Ebola, Smallpox and Prostate Cancer and clinical material of other recombinant vaccines which are still in earlier phases of development.

The main responsibilities for the position will be focused on scientific support to the Production and QC departments on use and release of raw materials for the GMP production of our vaccines.

Main activities of the job

  • Responsible for specifications and justifications for all chemical and biological raw materials
  • Responsible for SOPs for raw materials
  • Provide scientific support to the Production department on deviations and investigations related to raw materials
  • Provide scientific support to the QC department on testing packages incl. release and stability testing of raw materials
  • Provide scientific support to the Supply Chain and QA departments on approval of raw material vendors and participate in audits

 Qualifications

You hold a M.Sc. or PhD in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering or similar education and have 3 years of experience in a scientific support role within raw materials from the biotech or pharma industry, or alternatively 3-5 experience within research as a chemistry scientist.

The requirements are to:

  • Have knowledge of critical properties for chemical and biological raw materials used in production of vaccines (e.g. media, buffers, enzymes)
  • Have understanding of EU and US cGMP requirement for use and testing of raw materials

Other required skills:

  • You are flexible, resourceful, and have a strong ability to work independently as well as to plan and organise your own work
  • The position requires cooperation with internal as well as external teams, so you should also have good collaboration skills
  • You have good communications skills in writing and oral and thrive with the magnitude of paperwork associated with GMP
  • You write and speak English at a high level and preferably you are also fluent in Danish
