Role Purpose

The department Engineer in Charge is organised within Engineering Operations in Aerospace Engine Systems in Trollhättan. We are functionally responsible for that the best way of working, with respect to managing a product development or product support team, is available and we play an important role in developing and maintaining our product development and product support processes. We are also operationally responsible for deployment of experienced and skilled leaders to our value streams. We now need to strengthen our team to support the value streams in the current and future work.

Key Responsibilities

As an Engineer in Charge you will manage a multidisciplinary team of engineers in developing and/or supporting our products. You are responsible for the design of the product and its properties and will report requirement fulfilment to the Chief Engineer. You will work close to the Chief Engineer in planning, managing and reporting the engineering work. You will have frequent contact with our customers with respect to the detailed engineering aspects of the products.

We believe you are target oriented person with good leadership skills and the ability to manage a team of discipline leaders and engineers towards a common goal. You are a responsible person with commitment to deliver and with focus on the customer. This open position is within the PW1000G Turbine Exhaust Case (TEC) Value Stream, initially regarding the 30K TEC. The NEO TEC, to Airbus 32x, has just recently been certified and Irkut TEC will be end of the year.

Qualifications / Experience / Skills

  • You have experience from leading teams in Product Development, Sustaining Engineering or Technology development work.
  • You have good communication skills both internally and externally and ability to take lead within improvements programs/tasks.
  • You have good collaboration skills and see the strengths of working with a team.
  • You have good technical understanding of one or several of our product areas. Specific knowledge regarding our TECs is highly valuable.
