Functions
Contribute to the maintenance, construction and design of electronic and electro-mechanical equipment used for the control of fast pulsed systems and participate in their assembly and testing.
Participate in fault-finding and corrective interventions, take initiative to improve and increase the performance and reliability of operational installations.
Ensure the operational performance of equipment under your responsibility and contribute to their good integration within PLC based control systems.
After a period of familiarisation, you will organize, coordinate, supervise and participate in the installation of electronics and controls hardware infrastructure. In particular you will specify and accept specific technical works realized by other CERN services or on-site subcontractors when needed.
Prepare technical specifications in compliance with relevant standards.
Qualification required
Higher technical diploma or higher administrative diploma in the field of electricity, electronics, or equivalent. *

This position is open to junior professionals with a first relevant experience and with a keen interest to develop their knowledge in the control of fast pulsed systems, in analogue and digital electronics, and equipment control.
The technical competencies you will need to take up the post are:
Commissioning, operation & maintenance of electronic, equipment-level control, electro-mechanical and electrical systems.
Design of electro-mechanical and electrical circuits: knowledge of electrical circuitry, cabling techniques, safety rules and electrical cabling norms.
Experience in the configuration and programming of PLC and fieldbus systems would be an asset.
