Within the Buildings and Infrastructure group, you will be in charge of the:

  • Design and execution of lead, metallic and civil works (validation of technical solutions, follow up of drawings, construction and acceptance of buildings).
  • Liaison with all Divisions for the definition of projects (infrastructures for the experimental stations, new buildings, major infrastructure refurbishments).
  • Optimising technical solutions to the best cost.
  • Planning (many ongoing parallel projects).
  • Follow up of site works.

The Buildings & Infrastructure Group develops and upgrades the existing buildings and facilities; defines technical strategies in terms of site evolution for buildings and infrastructure; provides qualified analysis and diagnosis to facilitate the implementation of optimum solutions; shares its expertise with the different divisions in engineering for new projects.

Qualifications and experience

The candidate should be a chartered engineer or hold a Masters’ degree (Master, MSc, DESS, Diplom, Diploma, Ingeniera Superior, Licenciatura, Laurea or equivalent) specialised in mechanical, building construction or industrial engineering and have two to three years of experience in building projects, ideally having been assigned tasks related to the follow up of study and execution of civil works and finishings. You have experience in writing technical specifications for call for tender exercises and know how to make the related cost estimates. You have participated in scheduling building works and are familiar with French building regulations. Proficiency in AUTOCAD and SOLIDWORS would be an asset. Experience in operation/maintenance of industrial or scientific installations would be an advantage.
The working language of the ESRF is English and French is mandatory for this position.
