Automatic Program Generation for Minimal Virtual Machines using Grammatical Evolution
Description
The Post-Doctoral Researcher in Automatic Code Generation will work under the supervision of Prof Conor Ryan on Hub Project B2WP1: Micro Attribute Grammatical Evolution. The post doc should have previously acquired knowledge of Evolutionary Computation and Operating Systems will work with a team of PhD students to integrate their work. Specifically he/she will be responsible for using the existing flagship Grammatical Evolution system (libGE) to evolve minimal code sets to run on highly constrained Virtual Machines, and to use the system to automatically generate test cases for the output. They will work with a newly recruited Ph.D. candidate on the automatic generation of test cases and they will help direct the project as a whole, while also guiding the development of the PhD students, as they progress their work towards the evolving challenges associated with their fields of endeavour.
