Role Summary/Purpose:
The Reciprocating Compressors Engineering Manager will provide leadership and technical guidance to the engineering team in charge of developing requisition activities, NPI programs and others programs/initiatives aimed to sustain the business for the above-mentioned product. He/She will also act as main interface for the P&L and the other company's functions to get alignment and provide the needed support.
Essential Responsibilities:
The Reciprocating Compressors Engineering Manager will:
- Manage the Reciprocating Compressors Engineering organization providing guidance, leadership, technical direction and product development strategy to strengthen quality and competitiveness of the product lines, with lifecycle vision.
- Ensure seamless execution of NPI and development programs to meet business requirements.
- Ensure support to ITO through cooperation with application Engineering.
- Assure a flawless execution of Requisition activities through rigorous engineering process and risks mitigation plans.
- Drive key initiatives and synergies inside the Downstream Engineering team, to enable and sustain business growth.
- Lead the development and application of consistent design practices and sharing of design best practices across the team.
- Foster the technical growth of the team with proper training and talent development plans to achieve a sustainable organization with state of the art competences.
- Support with the team the installed fleet, interacting with customers, applying lessons learnt for continuous product improvement and implementing solutions for aftermarket.
- Ensure compliance with GE Spirit & Letter, Intellectual property and EHS.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Master Degree in Mechanical Engineering and PhD in related sciences.
- Previous managerial experience and ability to lead teams towards common goals.
- At least 15 years of experience in a project-based engineering or service position with demonstrated competences on Reciprocating Compressors/Engines design, operation and maintenance.
- Knowledge in technical disciplines like: mechanics, fluid dynamics, acoustics, rotor dynamics.
- Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills.
- English fluency.
- EU Work Permit.
- Ability to drive a cultural change.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.

Desired Characteristics:
- Six Sigma Certified.
- Customer oriented attitude.
- Understanding of Reciprocating Compressors in the O&G industry, with particular focus on Refinery and Petrochemical.
- Knowledge of Oil & Gas products and markets, competition and projects.
- Experience in product development and prototype testing.
- Strong business acumen.
