BUSINESS PROCESS ANALYST

The EIB, the European Union's bank, is seeking to recruit for its Finance Directorate (FI) – Coordination Division (COORD), at its headquarters in Luxembourg, a:

 

 BUSINESS PROCESS ANALYST

This is a full time position 

The term of this contract will be 4 years

The EIB offers fixed-term contracts of up to a maximum of 6 years, according to business needs,

with a possibility to convert to a permanent contract, subject to organisational requirements and individual performance.           

Purpose

To execute Business Process Analysis duties for the Finance Directorate with a focus on third party mandates activities. 

The Business Process Analyst works in close co-operation with all the FI/COOR-POL division members and in support of the other FI Departments, thereby ensuring that the Finance Directorate contributes to the achievement of FI and of the EIB’s objectives.

Operating Network

For FI operational activities, permanent interaction with other FI divisions in particular with Front-Office Treasury and Back-Office Lending and Treasury. Frequent interaction with other directorates, in particular Risk Management, Financial Control, Operations and General Secretariat. Within FI/COOR-POL, close co-operation with the other members of the Unit.

When required in performing his/her duties, EU Institutions (European Commission in particular), other IFIs.

As a services provider within FI, the FI/COOR-POL Division staff are team players. The Partnerships Business Process Analyst should be flexible, available and also be able to provide support when required in other areas of the divisions’ activities.

Accountabilities

  • Coordinate within the Finance Directorate the implementation of process and procedures documentation by proactively advising services in order to minimise the operational risks for the Bank and ensure its reputation and the achievement of institutional objectives:
  • Document the process related to FI activities
  • Analyse the processes and propose improvements
  • Establish and maintain the Internal Control Framework for all FI departments and relevant mandates including the identification, maintenance and testing of relevant Controls and Key Controls
  • Coordinate with other directorates the alignment of the cross-directorates processes (in particulars those related to third party mandates activities)
  • Support the service in the documentation of the procedures and ensure alignment with the FI procedure documentation methodology
  • Participate to projects in the domain of process and procedures documentation and improvement (with or without the involvement of external consultants)
  • Provide support to the activities done in the Finance Directorate for the implementation of third party mandates by proactively advising services involved on eventual financial issues in order to minimise the operational risks for the Bank and ensure its reputation and the achievement of institutional objectives
  • Contribution to other tasks, including reporting and controls

Qualifications

  • Master Degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering and/or Accounting
  • 3 years of proven professional experience in business process analysis/improvements
  • Good understanding of auditing, internal control systems in Banking organisations
  • Understanding of EU institutions environment
  • Analytical skills with a strong aptitude for modelling for financial processes and procedures purposes
  • Flexibility to perform and follow-up general and diversified administrative tasks
  • Solid experience with standard modelling notation (BPMN) and modelling tools (System Architect, ARIS, Visio)
  • Knowledge of standard reporting tool of the Bank (Business Object)
  • Good operational knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Access and PowerPoint
  • Excellent knowledge of written and spoken English and/or French (*). Knowledge of other EU languages would be an advantage.

(*) There may be certain flexibility on this requirement, but limited to particularly suitable candidates who may not yet be proficient in French. If selected, such candidates will be hired on the condition that they build up rapidly knowledge of French and accept that their future career in the EIB may be subject to the attainment of sufficient proficiency in both of the Bank's working languages
