The Research Fellow will work in a team of postdoctoral researchers and PhD students under the supervision of Prof. Tiziana Margaria (UL). The research will focus on Service Centered Continuous Engineering as a new paradigm for system development that matches Continuous Software Development on a systems side. The goal is to investigate the semantic underpinning of complexity in experimental settings, in particular, scientific workflows, the critical factors for pattern-based expression of domain and process-related knowledge, and their use as requirements and governance policies in an end-user-centered eXtreme MDD environment for process-oriented leading edge data analysis. Therefore, the Research Fellow must have a PhD relevant to the above elements and a deep understanding of scientific computing specifically in bio-informatics and geo-informatics. He/she will have specific responsibility for fostering the collaboration with other projects at Lero, in particular with companies and ICHEC.

Essential Criteria:
• PhD in Computer Science or Software Engineering, or equivalent.
• Extensive experience and a deep understanding of model driven and service oriented approaches and technology.
• Demonstrated experience in scientific computing, specifically in bio-informatics and geoinformatics.
• Substantial experience of research (generally not less than 6 years) in a relevant area.
• Experience of post-graduate supervision to PhD level.
• Strong communication, collaboration and coordination skills.
• Strong publication record.
• Excellent writing skills.
Desirable Criteria:
• Strong software-related technical skills.
• Good record of services to, and participation in, the academic community.
• Good dissemination skills targeting non-CS audiences.
• Prior track record of research proposal writing.
