Post Doctoral Researcher in Continuous Software Development/Research Fellow in Open/Inner Source and Agile Methods (2 positions)

Post Doctoral Researcher in Continuous Software Development:

The Post Doctoral Researcher will work in a team of post-doctoral researchers and PhD students under the supervision of Prof Brian Fitzgerald (UL). The team’s research focuses on new trends in software development, such as continuous software development (CSD). CSD represents the new paradigm for software development in a distinct shift from the agile approach. It is based on lean principles such as flow and the elimination of waste that arises in the hand-overs between development phases in current software development processes. Our research adopts a holistic focus from initial business strategy and continuous planning through to continuous run-time monitoring and adaptation. The research will be in close collaboration with Lero’s industry partners, such as Allstate, Dell, HP and IBM. He/she will collaborate primarily with Lero researchers in NUI Galway and the University of Limerick.

Research Fellow in Open/Inner Source and Agile Methods:

The Research Fellow will work in a team of post-doctoral researchers and PhD students under the supervision of Prof Brian Fitzgerald (UL) and will work closely with Dr Kieran Conboy in NUI Galway. The team’s research focuses on new approaches to software development, namely Open/Inner Source and agile and lean software development methods. The Research Fellow must have an in-depth understanding of software development methods in general, and open/inner source and agile methods specifically. The research will be in close collaboration with Lero’s industry partners, such as Allstate, Dell, HP and IBM. He/she will collaborate primarily with Lero researchers in NUI Galway and the University of Limerick.
