Over 100 scholarships for new MRes or PhD students at Ulster in 2015-16

Over 100 fully-funded scholarships are available for new masters of research and doctoral students at Ulster in 2015-16 from the University, Government and External Grants.

Our full scholarships cover fees and a stipend for living costs. They are available for all students, whether UK, EU or international.

The University invites applications for admission to full-time research studies commencing in September 2015. Studentships will be available for selected applicants*.

Research supervision leading to the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) is offered in the following Research Institutes:

Science, Engineering and Information Technology

Biomedical Sciences, Built Environment, Computer Science, Engineering, Environmental Sciences, Nursing and Health Research, Psychology

Social Sciences

Business and Management, Research in Social Sciences, Sport and Exercise Sciences, Transitional Justice (Law) 

Arts and Humanities

Art and Design, Arts and Humanities, Irish and Celtic Studies, Media Research

Master of Research (MRes)

A one-year full-time programme leading to the award of Master of Research is offered in the Faculties of Arts and Life and Health Sciences. Awards may be available for selected applicants.

How to Apply

To be considered for entry, applicants should hold, or expect to hold by 15 August 2015 a first or upper second class honours degree in a subject relevant to the proposed research topic. Specific project details are available on the University web site athttp://ow.ly/hbqfh

The closing date for the receipt of applications for full-time study and associated awards is 27 February 2015.

Interviews will form part of the selection process and are likely to be held during March/April 2015.

* Awards may be directed to some areas in preference to others on the basis of the number and quality of applications received and the University’s strategic approach to the support of research activity.
