Innovative experimental approaches for the mechanical characterization of materials for seismic protection devices

The employ of new materials for seismic protection devices involves problems both from the constitutive modeling and experimental point of view. Experiments are needed for the calibration of the models, for the study of the dissipative and hysteretic capacity, for the analysis of the evolution of the response with the loading history and the damage, for the determination of residual stresses induced by monotonic and cyclic loading histories.

The Research Fellow will be involved in the definition of test procedures based on innovative experimental approaches, in the execution of the tests, in the analysis and in the interpretation of the results.
