Organizational Setting and Reporting
This position is located in the Supply Section of the Strategic Support Service in the Logistics Support Division of the Department of Field Support. The incumbent performs as the Head of Fuel Unit under the supervision of the Chief of Supply Section.
Responsibilities
Within the delegated authority, the Head of Fuel Unit will be responsible for the following duties.

Education
Advanced university degree (Master's degree or equivalent) in logistics, supply chain management, business administration, public administration, engineering (chemical, petrochemical, mechanical engineering etc.), or related field. A first-level university degree in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
Work Experience
A minimum of seven (7) years of progressively responsible experience in supply services, administration, logistics, engineering, project management or related area is required. A minimum of three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in fuel supply operations and management in the oil industry, military or government petroleum operations, or international organisation, is required. Two years of supervisory experience is desirable. Experience in Petroleum, Oil and Lubricants (POL) specifications, applications, standards, storage and supply chain is desired. Experience in procurement, administration or management of large scale goods or services contracts is desirable. Experience in developing and implementing quality assurance processes is desirable. Experience in managing support services of international peacekeeping or military logistics operations Petroleum, Oil and Lubricants (POL) multinational corporate experience is desirable.
Languages
English and French are the working languages for the United Nations Secretariat. For the post advertised, fluency in English is required. Knowledge of French is desirable. Knowledge of another United Nations official language is an advantage.
Assessment Method
Evaluation of qualified candidates may include an assessment exercise which may be followed by competency-based interview.
