Prototype implementation of an encrypted wireless communication system on reconfigurable platforms and evaluation of the communications performance and security

The candidate will implement an encripted wireless communication system between two nodes on reconfigurable platforms. In particular, the candidate will implement the whole transmission and reception chain according to the noise-loop technique. The system must also include all subsystems as acquisition and tracking, synchronization and equalization. The candidate will also handle the test phase between the two nodes according to the nose-loop technique. In particular, he/she will verify that the whole system works according to the known theory and will measure all parameters of interest, eg. but not exclusively secure data rate, whole data rate, coverage, signal quality, etc. Successively, by means of two additional platforms (or a single one with two radio interfaces) the candidate will implement the typical attack techniques (passive, active) to the noise-loop system and verify the security performance by measuring all the parameters of interest
