The objective of this PhD research program is to design an ultra high efficiency concentrator photovoltaic module based on non-imaging micro-concentrator optics. Innovative integration processes and architecture will be investigated for the use of micrometric size high efficiency solar cells.

The research work will be based on the use of ray tracing softwares along with characterization benches of optics and modules (already existing benches or those under developement) in order to check the performances of the designed prototypes .

This research subject is at the boundary of optics, optronics and micro-electronics areas and has a strong innovative potential with a very high industrial interest since the objective is to unlock most of the main CPV technologies limitations in terms of efficiency.
