Join us and become Senior Environmental Engineer in the E&P Denmark QHSE department, which is responsible for QHSE support in all phases of the E&P value chain from Exploration, through project execution, drilling, operation and abandonment. As part of the DK QHSE department with 17 colleagues, your main responsibilities are environmental support to our Danish operations.

The department is a part of Exploration & Production, which has 700 employees and is one of four business units in DONG Energy. We explore for and produce oil and natural gas. Today, our activities are centred in the seas off Denmark, Norway and the United Kingdom, and we have an ambitious growth strategy with many exciting projects in the pipeline.

You will be based at our office in Gentofte in the Greater Copenhagen Area. However, you should expect some travelling in relation to your work.

Areas of responsibility

As Senior Environmental Engineer, it is your primary responsibility to cooperate with the authorities on all matters related to environment on behalf of our operations. Furthermore, you are responsible for relevant environmental support to the operations regarding eg assessment of chemicals, participation in energy efficiency projects, emission reduction initiatives, etc. Moreover, the position implies cooperation with the other Danish operators and participation in relevant workgroups in Oil Gas Denmark.

Furthermore, your key duties will be to:

  • elaborate relevant applications to authorities
  • perform environmental reporting to management, partners and authorities
  • support in relation to reduction of air emissions and oil/chemical discharge to sea
  • improve waste management, including handling of NORM
  • plan and coordinate seabed monitoring in cooperation with the other Danish operators.

Your profile

You have an academic degree, preferably at master’s level, in a relevant engineering discipline. Moreover, you have extensive relevant working experience and hands-on operational experience within environment, preferably from the oil and gas industry.

You have experience with the Danish rules and regulations within environment and knowledge of the international development within environmental matters. Furthermore, you have experience from working with environment management systems and you are probably Lead Auditor in ISO 14001.

As we operate in an international environment, it is essential that you speak and write English fluently, and that you have good communication skills, enabling you to communicate confidently and efficiently with your internal and external stakeholders.

You have a proactive approach to your work and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Moreover, you are service-minded and self-motivating, enabling you to balance your time and resources perfectly.

Since our environment may be hectic at times, it is important that you have an adaptable approach to your tasks, and that you are highly flexible.
