We're currently looking for a Senior Civil Structural Engineer to join our NAM Groningen Engineering Team, based in Assen - The Netherlands.

This position is to set up the capability to address all engineering required to support the full scale project implementation programme. The main focus of the role will be to provide competent engineering support and technical assurance on engineering and design work executed by our main engineering contractors in order to enable flawless transition of the work towards execution. You will mainly work from the NAM head office in Assen with regular meetings at the offices of our engineering contractors.
Job Description
Responsibilities:
In this role, the key challenge is to develop a detailed understanding of the basis for design, guidelines and fit-for-purpose engineering and research required for the full scale implementation of structural upgrading of buildings, industries and infrastructure taking into account the local environment and community. The project has a high non-technical risk and you're expected to be able to manage this while still delivering results. Other responsibilities are:
- Review of technical engineering documents,
- Contribution to technical evaluation of bids
- Provision of technical support and advice for the full scale implementation of the Structural Upgrading measures.
- Coaching of junior engineers in the engineering team.
Requirements Requirements:
- MSc/BSc in Civil and/or Structural Engineering preferably with experience related to dynamic analyses, earthquake engineering and/or geotechnical (soils, foundations) substantial experience in Oil and Gas projects (various project phases) with a large civil element.
- Experience with Eurocodes and International codes and standards.
- Knowledge of Finite Element Methods is preferred
- Able to work in a stressful environment with a lot of public interfaces
- Team player with enthusiastic and pro-active behaviour and the ability to deliver timely quality results as part of a team.
- In view of the work area and interfaces with public bodies fluent speaking and writing in Dutch is strongly preferred.
- Experience in both design and engineering with good knowledge about execution of Civil & Structural works.
