Job description

  • Responsible for structural integrity of the Mariner A and B assets, acting as Technical Authority
  • Responsible for clarifying the interface with adjoining systems and necessary coordination on behalf of Plant Integrity
  • Responsible for, in consultation with relevant technical discipline authority, ensuring that verification of economic calculations and approval of technical solutions are carried out for design changes/modifications before this is submitted for approval.
  • The owner of the structural and system documentation and responsible for ensuring that such information is up-to-date and available
  • Responsible for ensuring, in cooperation with relevant technical discipline authority, that the regulatory framework for the operation and maintenance of assigned systems are consistent with design constraints for individual components As TA, overview and necessary monitoring of, Written Scheme of Verification (WSV) findings and actions towards assigned system
  • Responsible for ensuring that the technical integrity of the equipment / subsystem is safeguarded within the structural systems and reported within Statoil’s
  • Technical Integrity Management Process(TIMP).
  • In coordination with technical system authorities, verify technical solutions and economic calculations related to design changes / modifications before these are submitted for approval
  • Responsible for the content of the maintenance program for the structural discipline
  • Contribute to risk-based assessments (RBA) of structural equipment and systems into the Maintenance and Inspection programs, utilizing Statoil Guidelines and
  • Technical Requirements.
  • Responsible for the technical information (LCI) being up-to-date, correct and available within the structural discipline before handover / commissioning of equipment/subsystem.
  • Responsible for assessing and visualizing the function and condition of the PS in accordance with TIMP. Identify challenges, propose and follow-up actions in order to improve the technical condition Preparation and participation in relevant verifications (e.g. Safety Case, WSV) on the facility
  • Maintain overview and knowledge of the safety barrier defined by the performance standard
  • Contribute to transfer of experience and standardization across facilities
  • Support the Integrity Management Cycle for topsides and subsea load-bearing structure (Primary, Secondary and Tertiary) on Statoil UK’s Mariner A (Platform) and associated FSU (Mariner B).
  • Support the development and implementation of risk-based Structural Inspection Programs
  • Liaise with Subsea Engineer (Subsea Operations) to manage implementation of the risk-based Subsea Inspection Programme via the most cost effective means.
  • Liaise with Marine Systems Engineer (Marine Technology) for specialist support with inspection of the FSU hull and mooring system.
  • Work with Operations and Engineering teams to minimise downtime and disruption to production caused by essential integrity activities, whilst providing medium – long term assurance of structural integrity.
  • Develop annual and strategic (Life of Field) structural integrity management plans and roll out these to Statoil UK’s Management Team.
  • Communicate key structural integrity risks and issues to Statoil UK’s Management Team
  • Produce Annual Structural Fitness for Safe Service Report for Mariner A and B

Qualifications

  • Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
  • Post-graduate qualification in Structural Engineering preferably in relation to offshore installations (MSc, MPhil or PhD)
  • Fluent English, written and spoken Professional qualification – C Eng or Eur Ing – and membership of appropriate professional organisation eg Institution of Structural Engineers
  • Extensiveexperience of structural integrity management of offshore structures preferably within an Operator or major Structural Engineering Service provider
  • Some knowledge and experience of using structural design packages eg DAMS, STAADPro, StruCAD 3D, FS 2000, SACS etc
  • Some knowledge and experience of using FE analysis packages eg PAFEC, SESAM etc
