Roles And Responsibilities

We currently are looking for an LBL Engineer to be responsible for the functioning of the subsea acoustic LBL systems in offshore locations. This entails mobilisation, troubleshooting, repairs, demobilisation and administration of these tasks. The Engineer will work alongside the surveyor operating the subsea acoustic LBL systems.

  • Performing calibrations and operation of the LBL/Acoustics systems
  • Performing (preventative) maintenance on LBL survey equipment
  • Interfacing vessel and third party sensors to the survey system
  • Ensuring sufficient resources are available on board in order to maintain system functionality
  • Responsible for producing various reports and keeping equipment records up to date
  • Adhering to company QA/HSE standards
  • The duration of the projects is 4 weeks on average with a maximum of 6 weeks offshore. You will be working 180 offshore days on average per year. For 60% of the time you spend offshore you will receive compensation days.

Requirements

  • B.Sc. level or diploma in Electronics
  • Three to five years experience within a similar role
  • Strong experience with LBL hardware (Sonardyne MK5, 6G),
  • Experience with survey and navigation equipment is preferable
  • Experience with Fugro Starfix and Sonardyne acoustics software is preferable
  • Good knowledge of English language, written and spoken
  • A team player and a clear communicator
  • Ability to work and travel offshore locally and internationally
