Renewable Energy Analyst

Responsibilities

  • Proactively conduct analysis on renewables to: (i) support commercial business decisions (ii) identify potential implications for E.ON core markets/business models.
  • Contribution to significant investment and strategic decisions of the E.ON Group and provide traders/portfolio managers support on price developments.
  • Track and research key legislation, regulation and cost development for renewable energy within Europe.
  • Forecast and co-ordinate E.ONs views on renewable energy capacity and generation development in Europe and interface to power forecasting team.
  • Develop forecasts for green certificate prices applying fundamental models, covering short, mid and long term.
  • Evaluate and model renewable auction systems and bidding behaviour.
  • Identify improvement potential for existing fundamental renewable market models, develop solutions (incl. relevant business case) and implement solution with internal and external partners.
  • Develop effective working relationships with other commodity analysts and renewable experts within the E.ON group.

Qualifications

  • Education in engineering, economics, business administration or mathematics
  • At least 5 years professional experience in the field of global energy markets, esp. power and green certificate markets
  • Strong contacts and relevant experience within the power and renewable energy industry
  • Team player with strong analytical and numerical skills as well as experience in financial modelling of energy markets
  • Pro-active and independent, willing to actively contribute to the new set-up of market analysis
  • An enthusiastic personality with strong communication skills and ability to work in an international environment
  • High level of MS Excel proficiency, programming capability a plus
  • Confident appearance with excellent communication skills and proficient use of English in business contexts
