The Catalan Institute for Water Research (ICRA), based in Girona (Spain), is offering a position as a postdoc researcher in the group of Water Quality for the study of different aspects related to the presence and elimination of antibiotics from wastewater. The student will develop his/her research based on the application of cutting-edge analytical instrumentation such as liquid chromatography coupled to tandem mass spectrometry or high resolution mass spectrometry to assess the presence and removal of antibiotics during water treatment processes. Some aspects that will be are the chemical and biological processes occurring during water treatment processes to these contaminants, the formation of corresponding transformation products during water treatment and the generation and prevalence of antibiotic resistance.
