In 2013, Wroclaw Research Centre EIT+ launched first biotechnology laboratories under the project “Lower Silesian Centre of Materials and Biomaterials” (DCMiB). Therefore, we are seeking employees who will perform research tasks and/or commercial services on the position of Protein Engineering and Molecular Interactions Laboratory Manager

Lab Manager will be conducting the research in a high-tech laboratory equipped with: state-of-the art devices for protein and biomolecular analysis using, SPR (surface Plasmon resonance), BLI (biolayer interferometry), HPLC, FPLC, picoscale thermophoresis, DSC (differential scanning calorimetry), circular dichroism, DLS/SLS and many other methods.

Main tasks and responsibilities of Protein Engineering and Molecular Interactions Laboratory Manager include

Defining the capabilities of the laboratory in R&D and services.
Setting up and operational launch of the laboratory.
Participation in the laboratory infrastructure set-up process, including:

- reviewing technical and research solutions,

- defining the needs concerning technology and laboratory equipment,

- participation in the process of purchasing, delivery, acceptance, installation, start-up, testing and training.

Providing services related to the operation of laboratories.
Assistance in attracting research projects.
Cooperation in attracting research groups.
Implementation of research projects consistent
Building and maintaining relationships with scientific, industrial and institutional partners.
Management of the consigned assets, including efficient utilisation and proper use

Requirements for this position

Doctoral degree (in the area of life sciences).
At least 3 years of postdoctoral professional experience in protein analysis and molecular interaction area.
Very good knowledge of biophysical methods for protein analysis, including surface plasmon resonance.
Professional experience abroad.
Experience in a management position would be an advantage.
Scientific achievements, substantiated by numerous publications.
Very good command of the English and Polish language.
Excellent organisational and communication skills.
