Head Of DSO Unit

“Union of the Electricity Industry – EURELECTRIC” is the professional association which represents the electricity industry at pan-European level. EURELECTRIC seeks to contribute to the competitiveness of the electricity industry, to provide effective representation for the industry in public affairs, and to promote the role of electricity in the advancement of society. 
You will:

Report to the Secretary General and be member of the EURELECTRIC Management Team; Organise and lead the work of EURELECTRIC’s DSO unit; Plan, coordinate and execute the work of several industry working groups, including EURELECTRIC’s DSOCommittee, the body responsible for all DSO policy related matters of the association; Lead the work on policy analysis and drafting of industry positions on DSO policy issues; Actively develop projects and strategies for EURELECTRIC; Organise and conduct analysis of relevant activities in the electricity industry; Represent the industry externally in various fora, including towards the Institutions and other relevant organisations.

Requirements and competencies:

An appropriate university degree (for example environmental economics, law or policy or engineering); A minimum of 6 years of experience with the energy sector and preferably in energy networks; Thorough understanding of the electricity industry, and its strategic challenges; Familiarity with energy scenarios, models and statistics; Thorough understanding and experience of EU institutions and policy-making processes; Strong management, organisational and communication skills; Fluency in English and another European language; excellent writing and oral skills; Ability to learn fast and adapt to work in diverse teams under pressure; Ability to nurture international contacts in business and political circles, NGOs and Institutions.
