PhD Studentship in Modelling of Friction Joining of Aerospace Materials

University of Cambridge - Department of Engineering

This project is available in collaboration with TWI (Granta Park, Cambridge) in association with their new Structural Integrity Research Foundation (SIRF).  The successful Student will divide their time between Cambridge University and TWI, with scope for collaboration with other universities and industrial partners.  The project is for 3 years, starting in October 2015.

Applicants should have (or expect to obtain) the equivalent of a UK first class honours degree (and preferably a Masters degree) in a scientific discipline that is relevant to the project. The studentship will cover tuition fees and an annual maintenance grant for EU nationals. Non-EU nationals will be considered only if they can cover the differential for overseas tuition fees.
