M.Sc. Thesis Position

TWO M.SC. THESIS POSITIONS IN THE FUTRE INDUSTRIAL SERVICES PROJECT WITHIN AALTO UNIVERSITY, SCHOOL OF SCIENCE, DEPARTMENT OF INDUSTRIAL ENGINEERING AND MANAGEMENT

The Department of Industrial Engineering and Management at Aalto University School of Science invites applications for two research assistant positions aiming at M.Sc. Thesis in the Future Industrial Services (FutIS) project as part of the Logistics Research Group. Chosen candidates will carry out empirical research work with a company partner, being either KONE or Finnair Technical Services depending on candidate qualifications and interests. Both M.Sc. thesis subjects are within service scheduling and resource management, with some room for negotiation depending on candidate background and interests. Both companies offer interesting, cutting edge research subjects in their respective challenging environments of engineering asset maintenance.

Major or minor in industrial engineering and management, or equivalent studies required. Studies in mechanical engineering and/or practical experience in maintenance work are appreciated. Further, skills in data analysis, simulation and modelling can also be considered an advantage.

The task of the research assistant is to conduct a M.Sc. Thesis based on the data collected in the project. The positions are fixed term for a six months, starting as soon as possible. The salary is 2373€ per month.
