The position
The Welding Engineer is responsible for evaluating welding and Field-Joint-Coating (FJC) quotations and the determination of optimal pipelay productions during the tender phase and follow-up during start-up and execution phase for the pipelay activities of our newly acquired pipelay barge Stingray.
Other duties:
- Review specifications and advise on (automatic) welding procedures;
- Advise on work methods relating to pipelay, welding, Non-Destructive-Testing (NDT) and Field-Joint-Coatings;
- Report progress and optimize pipelay productions;
- As a member of the tender team, provide all required input related to pipelay, welding, NDT and coating in order to determine the lowest cost price.
We ask for
- At least higher professional degree;
- At least 10 years of relevant working experience;
- Good practical and theoretical knowledge of pipelay production techniques;
- Extensive knowledge of (automatic) welding, NDT and FJC;
- Flexibility and excellent communication skills;
- A good verbal and written knowledge of the English language;
- Excellent computer skills;
- Willingness to work abroad and on board our Pipelay Barge.
