IT Business Analyst – IT Finland (OSS area)

Unit Technology Finland, headed by CTO, develops and operates local networks, platforms, applications and products.

IT Unit has overall ownership of the applications and functions (IT services) in Finland. The Unit is responsible for development, maintenance and steering operations in applications and functions towards Finland Business Units according to business plans, OLAs and long term IT-roadmap. The unit will create, update and implement long term vision, strategy plan and IT-roadmap according to the technology governance and common IT-roadmap. The unit is responsible for transformation executions, vendor management and improvement of development, maintenance and operations process. In addition, unit holds responsibility for asset management, financial performance and resource and competence management. Main interfaces will be Country Business Units, other Country Technology Units, Group Technology Units and external vendors.

We are now looking for IT Business Analyst within the Operational Support Systems (OSS) area. The position is located within the IT Finland, OSS-area in the Finnish Technology unit.

Work tasks and responsibilities

The purpose of this role is to ensure effective IT objects (systems, applications or platforms) within an application area by translating the operation’s needs for information, functionality and user friendliness into realizable solutions in the form of system requirements.  Main tasks for the IT Business Analyst:

  • Enables changes and solves problems by defining business needs and recommending IT solutions. Work is carried out in cooperation with project managers, business owners and the vendors
  • Delivers requirement specifications, process descriptions and functional design used to plan technical implementation
  • Facilitates the changes (planning, coordination, execution and follow-up) within the area of expertise including management of scope, time cost and quality.
  • Makes sure that the suppliers produce appropriate solution design specifications, system development, configuration management, system test, acceptance test and implementation on the basis of the approved requirement/demand specifications, agreed time plans, agreed purchase orders and according to possible standard application design
  • Secure handover to operations/production for developed deliveries within the area of expertise.

Knowledge and experience

  • University degree in telecommunications/IT or similar proven experience.
  • Good English & Finnish skills, both written and oral proficiency.
  • Track record of managing a wide IT solution area.
  • Good understanding on IT requirement specification activities.
  • ITIL process knowledge.
  • Basic understanding on financial processes and project models.
  • Good ability in networking and forming relationships, i.e. a team worker
  • Business oriented, well structured, self-driven, energetic, focused on results and sense of humor
  • Previous knowledge on OSS area and telecommunications network operator business processes and network construction area are regarded as an asset
