Information Technology and Network Services in the Executive Directorate (EXD/ITN) provide the applications, systems and technologies to support and enhance the OECD's global role in building knowledge, communicating with the world and interacting with governments to inform and influence policy making.

EXD/ITN is looking for a Lead SharePoint Developer who will report to the SharePoint Architect and be responsible for the technical design and development of custom SharePoint solutions, day to day management of the development team , developing, testing, deploying and maintaining solutions and contributing to the Continuous Improvement Plan by instilling innovation and Best Practices.

Main Responsibilities

Lead the technical design and development of custom SharePoint solutions:

  • Guide the development team in technical design choices.
  • Plan and assign agreed development work, including backlog management.
  • Run daily development team meetings to ensure that work items are committed and delivered and that obstacles are raised, resolved or escalated.
  • Ensure that agreed standards and methodologies are rigorously applied to all development work.
  • Lead development team work evaluations, retrospectives and technical demos.
  • Co-ordinate with Project Managers and the SharePoint administration team to ensure solutions are fit for purpose and deployments are well-organised.

Development, Testing and Maintenance:

  • Develop solutions using C#, Visual Studio and the source management tool.
  • Test, document, package, deploy and maintain solutions.
  • Provide advanced solution support and diagnostics.

Innovation, Best Practices and Continuous Improvement:

  • Participate actively in evolution and application of deployment and development policies together with associated best practices.
  • Provide technical expertise to other ICT colleagues and teams.
  • Keep abreast of changes, trends and innovations in the use of collaborative tools. Make informed recommendations on the use and implementation of new tools and capabilities as appropriate, ensuring that these align with the Organisation's business requirements.

Ideal Candidate Profile

Academic Background:

  • A university degree in computer science.

Professional Background:

  • Five years' professional experience developing in SharePoint with C# and providing advanced solution support and diagnostics.
  • Three years' professional experience with the .NET framework and database design.
  • One year professional experience leading a development team, co-ordinating with project managers, working in a structured, Agile development environment and using secure software development life cycles.

Tools:

  • MOSS 2010, FAST server, IIS; SQL Server; Windows Server.
  • Visual Studio, TFS, .NET framework.

Languages:

  • An excellent written and oral command of one of the two official languages of the OECD (English and French) and working knowledge of, or willingness to learn, the other.
  • Knowledge of other languages would be an asset.

Contract Duration

  • Two year fixed term appointment, with the possibility of renewal.

What the OECD offers

  • Monthly base salary starting from 4 194 EUR exempt of French income tax, plus allowances based on eligibility.
