The Nansen Environmental and Remote Sensing Center is partner and leader of many European research projects, funded by EU and ESA, which require professional project management. The Center has now a vacant position as project manager for a new EU project under H2020, which will be coordinated by the Center. The position includes administrative and financial management of the project, following the guidelines for coordinating EU projects. Subsequently, the position will also include management of other projects including controller function.

Description

The Nansen Environmental and Remote Sensing Center is an independent non-profit research foundation affiliated to the University of Bergen. The Center conducts climate and environmental research projects with focus on marine and polar research. The Center funding is primarily through projects supported by research councils, space agencies, the European Commission, national and international government agencies, industry and private donations. Since 2012 the Center has also received basic funding from the Ministry of Climate and Environment through the Research Council of Norway. In 2014 the Center has about 75 employees from 18 countries. Applicants should have a MSc degree and experience in scientific project management. It is an advantage to have project management training (e. g. Prince 2 certificate or similar) and background in geosciences, since most projects at the Center are in this domain. Furthermore, good skills are required in oral and written English, and communication internally and towards project partners. We are searching for candidates with interest and ambition to pursue a career in scientific project management. The position is open for three years from 01 February 2015, but it is planned to be extended to a permanent position.

Salary will be dependent on qualification and experience. For an equal level of qualifications, female applicants will be given priority.
