Doctoral student in the area of  Product Ergonomics

Job description

  • You prepare a doctoral thesis in the field of  Product Development with an emphasis towards product ergonomics to investigate the effects of physical and thermal comfort when wearing near body products.  The successful candidate will combine physical experiments with numerical modeling techniques and translate its finding in a product development process;
  • You contribute to teaching and research in the field of Product Development.

Profile and requirements

  • You hold a master degree  in Product Development, Engineering, Bioscience Engineering or Applied Engineering;
  • You have a strong affinity with product development.;
  • You are an enthusiastic and motivated student with a strong interest in Computer Aided Engineering such as Finite Element Modelling and/or Computational Fluid Dynamics and Computer Aided Design.
  • Outstanding academic results are an asset;
  • Also students in the final year of their degree can apply;
  • The focus in your teaching corresponds to the educational vision of the university;
  • Your academic qualities comply with the requirements stipulated in the university’s policy;  
  • You have good organizational, writing and presentation skills and should be able to work well both independently and in a team environment;
  • You are quality-oriented, conscientious, creative and cooperative;

We offer

  • A doctoral scholarship for a period of one year.
  • A gross monthly grant ranging from € 2.167,88 tot € 2.486,53;
