PhD Studentship

Position Summary



Prospective topics for the PhD research project will include, but are not limited to:

• Electrochemistry, with a focus on electrochemistry at liquid-liquid interfaces.

• Photo-electrochemistry at liquid-liquid interfaces for energy conversion and storage.

• Ionic liquid development for biosensor and energy conversion applications.

• Miniaturised electrochemical systems to the nanoscale for biosensor development.

• Modification of liquid-liquid interfaces with metallic nanoparticles for liquid mirror and filter applications.



The project may be tailored to the applicant’s previous experience or future ambitions. The project will be carried in the Chemistry Department at University College Cork.

Requirements:

• Candidates applying require a bachelors degree in Chemistry or a closely related topic.

• Candidates with a Masters degree in Chemistry or with previous research experience in any chemistry related topic are also eagerly invited to apply.
