We seek candidates to apply for a postdoctoral grant in the competitive call "Beatriu de Pinós" (BP-DGR) (Modality B), funded by the Catalan Government and the Marie Curie COFUND Action of the Seventh Framework Program for Research and Technological Development.
Description
LEQUIA (http://lequia.udg.cat) is the Laboratory of Chemical and Environmental Engineering, a research group of the University of Girona (Catalonia, Spain) devoted to the development of eco-innovative water solutions. Because our work is multidisciplinary, LEQUIA projects currently involve environmental scientists, chemists, biologists, engineers and computer scientists. We have a team of 40 researchers and technicians. Our current research lines are: i) design, operation and control of advanced processes for the biological treatment of industrial and urban wastewaters, ii) valorization of resources within the water-energy nexus, iii) environmental decision support systems, and iv) advanced adsorption/oxidation processes for the treatment of liquid and gaseous effluents.
Candidates must i) to have obtained their PHD degree between 1st January 2008 and 31st December 2012 (the date the PhD degree was obtained is understood as that on which the thesis was defended and approved), ii) To have, at the time of joining the host organisation, a minimum of two years of postdoctoral experience outside Spain, iii) have at least one original publication as a first author or co-author in reference magazines or publishers within their field, at the moment of the submission of the application, and iV) not have resided or carried out their main activity in Spain for more than twelve months in the two years immediately prior to the submission of the application.

Benefits
The successful applicant will have a 2 years contract with a gross salary of 42.511,20€ per year, which includes all compulsory social security contributions (employee’s contribution and employer’s contribution, where applicable) as well as direct taxes (e.g. income tax). A contribution to the training expenses of the researcher of 3.000,00 € per year will be awarded to the host organisation. Intended date of beginning: before 1st October 2015.
