Morphodynamics of the Adige River: historical reconstruction and mathematical modelling

The goal of this research is to reconstruct the morphodynamic evolution of the Adige River between Merano and Borghetto, with quantitative focus on the last 250 years. This shall be achieved by integrating morphodynamic modeling, analysis of historical maps and remotely sensed data with geomorphological analysis. The research shall focus on both the physical and the biotic sides of morphodynamics, particularly in relation to the active role of riparian vegetation dynamics.
