Postdoctoral Positions - Nano-Plasmonics and Nano-Photonics (theoretical)

JOB DESCRIPTION

We offer a post-doctoral position in 2015 in Genoa with competitive annual remuneration depending on the experience of the candidate.

For this research position, the candidate will be working on a challenging project in the fields of Plasmonics and Nano-Optics. The main aim will be the development of ground-breaking methods and devices for the manipulation of the electromagnetic field at the nano-scale as well as the development of the next generation of plasmonic or photonic sensors, detectors and optical nano-sources. Beside projects can rely on the interactions of plasmonic nanostructures with fluid at the nano-scales (nano-optofluidics). 

The post doc will be in charge of designing novel optical devices as well as support the group in the interpretation of results ensuing from the overall experimental activity in the field of nano-photonics.

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

We are looking for a highly motivated candidate with strong background in theoretical calculations and modeling of plasmonic and photonic nanostructures. Candidates should hold a Ph.D. in physics, engineering or related disciplines. We expect previous experience in modeling platforms (e.g., COMSOL or Lumerical).

Additional expertise in Physics of Fluids and the modelling of microfluidic system will be considered a plus.
