Young company at the forefront of radiopharmaceutical production and molecular imaging seeks a Cyclotron Operator/Engineer. 

This is a rare opportunity for someone who wants to be involved in setting up a new company almost from scratch.
You will be responsible for the operation of the cyclotron to provide radionuclides for PET radiopharmaceutical production. In this role, you will ensure that the requirements of cyclotron preventative maintenance, radiation compliance, health and safety, good manufacturing practices (GMP) and licensing commitments are met.
It is important that you have a sense of responsibility and good analytical insight. You have an eye for quality and safety and are good at working according to protocols and regulations.

Functie-eisen

  • Degree in Electrical / Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
  • Experience in electrical, mechanical engineering, medical equipment services or equivalent
  • Experience in radionuclide production for the manufacture of radiopharmaceuticals
  • Practical experience of working with ionizing radiation
  • Working knowledge of GMP regulations
  • Ideally, you have a specialization in one or more of the following areas: electronics, x-ray technology, precision engineering, high voltage technology, vacuum technology or radiation hygiene
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
  • Willing to undergo necessary additional training (abroad if necessary)
  • A team player, able to work under pressure, and committed to customer service
  • Able to independently assess deviations in the functioning of equipment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Flexible with regards to working hours and willing to work on stand-by duty in shifts

Arbeidsvoorwaarden

You will be appointed at the RTM for a period of one year, with salary and secondary conditions depending on your experience. A permanent position will be considered after this year. Terms of employment will be determined in accordance with the collective agreement for University Medical Centers (CAO UMC).

Radboud Translational Medicine

Radboud Translational Medicine (RTM), a full subsidiary of Radboud University Medical Center, was set up in a bid to realize a fully equipped cyclotron facility. The aim is for this facility to be operational before the end of 2015, which should give a significant boost to translational research at the Medical Center and at companies in the region. RTM will focus on attracting assignments which involve performing contract research for third parties. It will also investigate possibilities for supplying radiopharmaceuticals to the market, thus exploiting the cyclotron commercially.
