PhD Scholarships

Are you ready to change the world?

Our PhD candidates are designing revolutionary energy storage systems, working to pinpoint new breast cancer biomarkers, investigating environmental change and researching the Global Slavery Index.

From stabilising liquid crystals to enable LCD technology to creating novel virtual reality training simulators for the off-shore wind industry, the University of Hull has a history of presenting real-world solutions that make a difference.

With cutting-edge facilities to enhance your research - such as a brand new biomedical building complete with a mini-cyclotron; our fully immersive virtual reality technology suite; and our modernised library fresh from a £27 million refurbishment – you will have the opportunities to excel surrounded by supportive academic staff of the highest calibre.

And all in the upcoming UK City of Culture for 2017, Hull.

How will you make your mark?

The University of Hull is offering, in an open competition, up to 80 full-time UK/EU PhD Scholarships (or international fees bursaries) based on specific topics across the areas and themes below.

Through these PhD Scholarships we aim to develop future sector leaders who have excellent academic and transferable skills, a knowledge of the major challenges facing the world, and an understanding of how research translates into impact through working with a wide range of subject specialists and external stakeholders and partners.
