The EPSRC Centre for Doctoral Training in Future Infrastructure and Built Environment invites applications to the 4-year MRes+PhD programme.  The programme will develop engineers who will lead major infrastructure projects and research projects.

The academic programme is a 1-year MRes (Masters) course followed by a 3-year PhD. Entry can either be direct to the academic programme, or via the I+ scheme which provides a 1-year placement with an industry partner before starting the MRes.

The programme integrates the University's strengths in Civil Engineering research with business skills and with the natural and social sciences. The CDT is based in the Civil Engineering Division of the Department of Engineering. Collaborating industrial partners and international academic centres help to shape and develop the programme.

Funding for fees and maintenance is available for successful applicants who satisfy EPSRC eligibility requirements. The CDT welcomes applications from candidates who can demonstrate high academic achievements in Civil Engineering or a cognate engineering or scientific field.

The deadline for the first round of applications is 31st January 2015.
