Inverse modeling of soil moisture and distributed hydrologic response

Aim of the research is the validation and testing of the inverse (adjoint) model for the distributed hydrologic model MOBIDIC. The adjont model will be cast in a variational approach for the assimilation of satellite soil moisture and land surface temperature observations as well river discharge data. The model will be coded in Matlab language, using the distributed computing environment. The assimilation procedure will include a multiscale observation operator for the distributed satellite observations.
